WHAT
IS RESPITE CARE?
Respite Care gives temporary relief to family members who are caring for their child with a disability. Exhausted family members can use this service when there’s a family emergency, or take a break for personal time, run errands, or just to spend time with other family members. |

WHO ARE WE?
Pemancar House Respite Care Support Service is a non-profit joint project by Asia Community Service and BOLD Association for Children with Special Needs Penang.
We realise the importance of supporting families in caring for their child with special needs in the home. Therefore, we want to provide flexible and homely respite care and support services for preschoolers, children, teenagers and young adults with disability and their carers.
As this is a pilot project, the provision of services will be evaluated and revised accordingly at the end of 6 months.

WHAT DO WE OFFER?
Families can be assured of safety and quality care which will be provided in a homely environment. We offer half day relief service as well as during school holidays. Future plans include the provision for emergency and / or overnight respite care service.
HOW CAN YOU USE THIS SERVICE?
This service is open to any child with special needs and their siblings. Interested families need to register with the Centre. Booking has to be made two weeks prior to the service date. Service user will be charged a nominal fee to help cover our running costs. |
